My little girl loves painting and crafting, I’m pretty sure she could paint all day long, just like me. So when our “Letter B is for Bus” unit was coming to an end this week I knew it was time for a craft. I wanted to do something different and after much though I realized that the shape of a milk carton could look very much like a bus which is perfect because I LOVE being able to recycle materials for our crafts!
To make a recycled milk carton bus you will need:

Recycled milk cartons (obviously!)
Recycled lids (from juice bottles or milk carton if they are big enough)
Tempera paint (US)/ Tempera Paint (UK)
Paint brushes
Hot Glue Gun/ Glue Gun (UK)
White glue
Blue construction paper

I started by covering our table with newspaper, I find that this always helps to make cleaning easier. I put together all our supplies and invited Tutu to come and paint. I cannot tell you how excited she was when I explained her what we were doing!  

Tutu started painting the milk cartons with her hands and then finished painting them with the brush. I also painted a little (I LOVE painting!).

Then she painted the lids with black paint so that they look like wheels. When she was ready painting we left everything on top of the table to dry overnight.

After breakfast I cut some pieces of blue construction paper to make the windows. Then I dissolved a bit of white glue with water and I invited Tutu to glue the windows. She had so much fun! She couldn’t stop b...
